National Coordinator & Co-Ambassador – World Wellness Weekend Portugal; Strategic Communication and Marketing in Tourism, Health and Wellness
With more than 15 years of experience in strategic communication and marketing, Vânia Sousa's work spans tourism, health and wellness.
As Co-Ambassador of World Wellness Weekend, she has coordinated the initiative in Portugal since 2021; it is now active in 190 countries. She brings together organisations, venues, municipalities and communities to promote healthier lifestyles. Her contribution has earned her the Best Coordinator award.
A lecturer at Turismo de Portugal, Vânia delivers communication and marketing programmes for executives and tourism professionals.
In health communication, she helps demystify complex health information and improve health literacy. She also shapes communication and brand strategies for organisations.
Currently completing a PhD in tourism, health and wellness, she combines professional practice with academic research and scientific publications in tourism, wellness and communication.
Author of Tourism, Competitiveness and Destination Portugal: Success Factors and International Image, she also speaks at higher education institutions and industry events and has been featured by Forbes Portugal in its wellbeing editions.
Her current interests also include innovation in tourism, wellbeing-oriented territories and longevity.
